Anaerobic wastewater treatment

Initial situation

Due to a planned expansion of production, one of our customers doubled its previous wastewater volumes (to approx. 120 – 140 m³/d). Based on the additional wastewater volume and the added COD load, the treatment plant was mathematically overloaded. In order to be able to realize the planned production expansions, either wastewater pretreatment with a significant reduction of the COD load or complete treatment up to direct discharge quality in accordance with the Wastewater Ordinance (minimum requirement) was necessary. In order for the wastewater to continue to be discharged to the treatment plant, the COD load must be reduced by at least 60%. In the search for a suitable solution, other technologies proved unsuccessful.

The FlexBio wastewater treatment plant could offer the optimal solution here. Here, the process and the plant size prove to be optimal.
