Operating profitably and making a profit is commonplace for growing companies. It is often not easy to make the right decisions regarding investments on a daily basis. For this reason, we would like to go into a little more detail in this blog post about why a wastewater treatment plant should be chosen, especially in terms of energy and gas.
sustainability
The keyword sustainability is on everyone’s lips and is now even required by law in many areas. However, conventional wastewater treatment is not only associated with high operating costs, but also with high CO₂ emissions. On the other hand, recycling wastewater with an anaerobic process is a sustainable use of this natural resource and therefore definitely a plus.
Energy
While the water is purified in the wastewater treatment plant, the valuable biogas is formed at the same time. This can be fed back to the company as electricity and heat by means of a CHP (combined heat and power) unit. This reduces further costs thanks to the company’s own energy production. 1 kg COD corresponds to 0.35 standard cubic meters of methane or 3.5 kWh.
Modular and compact design
We build our plants compactly and modularly in containers. This makes it possible to use the process even for small and medium-sized companies, where no economic application has been possible so far. This includes both pretreatment and full clarification. The decision on how large the plant should be does not have to be made directly at the beginning of the cooperation. The systems can also be expanded as needed and grow with the company.
Lower costs in wastewater disposal
Due to the limits imposed by the Wastewater Ordinance, wastewater disposal can be an expensive pleasure. On the one hand, having our own wastewater treatment plant increases the efficiency of our own processes. On the other hand, pre-treatment makes the operating costs of wastewater treatment or disposal significantly cheaper thanks to the avoidance of the heavy pollution charge.
flexibility
We have already discussed our modular design. Thanks to this structure, in addition to the actual wastewater treatment, expansion options and complete infrastructure (e.g. mixing and equalization tanks, wastewater pretreatment, separation and separation technology, gas storage, treatment and utilization) are available as one system. More information about our system is also available here.
